Hi guys, it's been a while so I thought it's a good time for a summer icon dump. These are all the icons I've made since the start of May. I didn't make many in the summer, I always just get so excited about outdoorsy RL activities that I kinda stop caring about icons. But now that my vacation is over and it's getting colder anyway, I'm starting to get my interest in icons back - in fact there's something I've been planning with thyla87, see the announcement at the end of the post :)

But first the icon dump. I've been very much in a simple icon phase, with lots of color and light, inspired by styles that were popular in ~2011/2012 and thus remind me of when I first started making icons in multifandom comms. That was such an amazing time for iconing, remember theiconquest?? Too bad I was a shitty maker at that stage xD Anyway, here's my travel back in time - hopefully some of you still like this type of icons! (yes I know my last the7days set doesn't quite fit in and kinda ruins the cohesion of this post, oops)

I know there's not a ton of people around, but why not give this a try and see if it inspires a couple of makers? It doesn't look like monthlyinspo is coming back, so there haven't been any multifandom challenge comms for bigger sets in a few months. Personally one reason I haven't been so into making icon lately is the lack of this type of bigger challenge - you know how I hate making these icon dumps of just random icons, I feel like there's no excitement of just posting stuff that people have seen before, not like there is for posting a brand new full set for a challenge. So I just decided to stop complaining and start solving the problem. We'll guarantee to run it for 6 rounds at least and after that re-evaluate if there's enough participation, so if you're at all interested, participate while it's there! The first challenge will be posted on tuesday and I think it will be a lot of fun :D If you want to spread the word, which would be super great, you can find the promo code here in the info post!

Yeah, that could never be me lol
The hotter it gets, the less likely I am to spend time outside.

Anyway, The colors and lights in this post are fantastic. It is actually quite nice to just scroll up and down to see the light patterns shift between the rows :D
I especially like all the vibrant green colors.

Ohh I definitely hear you if you live in a warmer place - in Finland it rarely gets too hot, but when it does (like, +28 Celsius which is probably not even that hot in other places), I become immobile :p

Germany is not exactly a hot place, but the (short) heatwave this year was 30-35°C for three weeks. Nope.

I like summer because I usually have a slightly shorter workday and can do more... but with everything going on, it's not like I'm doing much after. I did use my actual vacation and made a set I liked but not much beyond that. The heat kills my inspiration, haha.

Onto the icons! This batch is quite summery and I loooove it! ♥ I love the vibrant colors and the light (teach me your ways!!). It's amazing how they do follow a similar style but they're all different. And as usual, I love how you potentiate the icons' original colors. I definitely love this kind of icon! :D

Like I said in the previous post when you were thinking about it, I think the comm is a great idea! Muse-permitting, I look forward to participating in it :) It reminds me a bit of some of the itsabattlefield challenges but that comm is unfortunately inactive atm. I can't wait to see what challenges you have.

Thank you so much for the lovely comment!! ♥ I'm glad you like this style! It looks so simple yet it's very out of my comfort zone, so definitely not easy. When I can't use complexity or text as a crutch I find that everything else needs to be absolutely perfect and when it's not, it immediately shows and that's super frustrating (and definitely happened with some of these...).
