Here's a set I made for [livejournal.com profile] themeofthemonth round 3, which was about period dramas. I chose Atonement. This month I wanted to go out of my comfort zone a bit and focus on muted or pastelly icons, cropping (esp close crops) and lighting, and minimalistic icons with no complex composition or text. I don't consider any of these styles my strengths, but I like varying it up a bit so that people don't always know what kind of set I'm going to post next. There's also an icon dump mostly consisting of misc icons with a similar style. I hope you'll find something to like, hover for fandom! Let me know your thoughts :)

Wow, yes, these are indeed unusual for you! It's amazing how you can make so many, and consistently good ones, for a style that's not coming easy to you.

They're real studies in cropping and lighting. I especially like the scenes (i.e. the relatively far crops) and the very close crops. From the set, my faves are 5, 7, 10, 11 (great coloring!) and 14. I find your distinctive way of coloring is evident in 14, even though the colors are not vibrant as they usually are.

Of the others, I like 17-20 (the bright lighting is especially fitting on skyscapes, and 17 has a great tension), 21, 29 (the chiaroscuro indeed comes out best in b/w or monochrome), 37 (awesome crop), 43-45 (Emerson!), 46, 49, 53 (another great crop), 57 (an example of how it *does* work with more vibrant colors, too), and 61.
