Wow, yes, these are indeed unusual for you! It's amazing how you can make so many, and consistently good ones, for a style that's not coming easy to you.

They're real studies in cropping and lighting. I especially like the scenes (i.e. the relatively far crops) and the very close crops. From the set, my faves are 5, 7, 10, 11 (great coloring!) and 14. I find your distinctive way of coloring is evident in 14, even though the colors are not vibrant as they usually are.


Of the others, I like 17-20 (the bright lighting is especially fitting on skyscapes, and 17 has a great tension), 21, 29 (the chiaroscuro indeed comes out best in b/w or monochrome), 37 (awesome crop), 43-45 (Emerson!), 46, 49, 53 (another great crop), 57 (an example of how it *does* work with more vibrant colors, too), and 61.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! I feel like I've been making icons forever, so it's really difficult to find any new styles to try, I guess that's why I'm trying to focus more on my weaknesses than strengths lately, cause there's just more new ground to explore. I'm glad you think it worked in these. LOL you got me on 14, I totally made it in my usual oversaturated style at first and then just turned it muted at the end :)
