I just joined! I feel like my icon making has been really stale lately, so I'm going to use this as an opportunity to be inventive, experiment, push myself. (Though the complexity and size of the comm has me a little intimidated, I must admit. :/)

I'm too intimidated to join that comm I think! I keep trying to read all the rules and stuff and get completely confused.

Yeah, I gave up on the rules about halfway through, and am just trying to do the first challenge. I think maybe I'll be able to figure it out as I go.

I think it's an amazing comm to try all the different things - have you figured out the 'classes' system yet and if so, do you know which you'll focus on? (ignore the question if you haven't)

I'm in the Woods, too! The classes are hero, rogue, wizard, and the other one, right? I think I'm going to push myself to do more wizard-type icons than I would normally do, just because I've gotten in a rut of "clean up, standard gradients, bottom-thirds crop, texture."

Yes, those are exactly what i meant :) ('the other one' would be Bard, the text/storytelling icons). Great to hear you're venturing into Wizardy stuff, so many different options there! I think I'll try to divide my points equally, but if I had to pick one I think I'd focus on Hero - coloring is actually my favorite part of iconing!

I gotta admit those rules had me a bit paralyzed at first, they're longer than your basic law book! but then I just decided to follow everyones questions and discussions about it and hope I'll figure it out that way and I think I have, for the most part. I really hope to see you there too at some point! There are plenty of places to ask for clarification and if you don't want to bother them you can always ask me cause I love explaining stuff :p

Yeah I have a feeling I'll end up there eventually given my inability to not join everything I see.
