After the text-focused set I made last time, I wanted to focus on simpler icons this time, and specifically on lighting as the main technique. I've never considered lighting to be one of my strengths, so this practise was definitely welcome and needed. Unfortunately I didn't have as much time as I usually like to take for iconing, because I was dumb and miscalculated that I could easily make two sets this month :p Well I'm not making that mistake again, and I think I'm gonna need to take a short leave from iconing until the current Ausvivor season is over and I have some of my working nights free of shows, so that I could watch the things I need to watch for iconing!
In the monthlyinspo set, hover for the chocolate flavor the icon was inspired by, I hope they fit the colors enough.
The SPN set for themeofthemonth was challenging cause I don't normally use a lot of orange in my icons, but that's why I chose this color, always up for a challenge. It's actually super hard to make shiny icons in full orange cause the lighter parts always turn yellow, but I think they have enough orange still to fit?
As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts, and feel free to use any you want :)

Anyway, from the monthlyinspo set I love 1, the colors are perfect and the use of light is amazing! I also love the blending and the colors of 2. My other favs are 6 and 8 (great use of text and composition).
From the themeofthemonth set I love 13, 17, 18 and 20 (great crop!). Also the alts are beautiful, I love the purple colors on 21, the crops on 28 and 30 and the composition on 27. Good job!

From the montlyinspo set my absolute favourite is 6! Love everything about it - the dark tones, the text, the coloring, the lighting and of course Moriarty! The blending in 2 is great and it's RED, I love red icons :D Great coloring and texture use in 3. The composition in 8 is amazing and the pyramid at the center is a really nice touch. And I love the contrast between light/dark in the Orphan Black icon.
Love the whole set for themeofthemonth. Don't worry, they definitely look orange enough on my screen. As I'm catching up on SPN at the moment I really appreciate some icons. The cropping and lighting overall is really amazing, especially in 19 and 20. The text in 19 is also great, love the arrangement. And 16 is so simple, but so pretty!
From the misc icons I really like the composition in 27, the coloring in and lighting in 31 and the color combination in 34 :)

I too took the themeofthemonth set as a chance to catch up on SPN a tiny bit. I like to watch an episode and make one icon for it, so I got ten episodes forward from where I was and was finally able to start S12 (I'm sooo behind), but idk when I can continue. It was decently good, but didn't compel me to take time to watch more, if that makes sense.

Ooof, if I tried the one icon per episode my posts would be even more all over the place fandom wise, I usually go with whatever fandom I'm into the moment + whatever I've watched recently. And I agree about SPN, it's not as good as seasons 1-4, but at least it's better than the mess that were seasons 7-9, which caused me to drop it in the first place.

The lighting on this post is absolutely gorgeous. I do know what you mean though. I love making orange icons if it actually works lol
Sometimes it just gets too yellow or too red and then I'm not happy, but when it does work out, orange is one of my favorite colors for icons. Doesn't matter if I made it or someone else did ;)
Back to your pretty post! I love how the monthlyinspo clearly reflects the focus on lighting and still has great compositions, blending, and use of text. The themeofthemonth is awesome. In terms if color, 13 is probably my favorite since it has different shades of orange that work really well together with the crop and lighting. My favorite from the entire set is 19 due to the perfect lighting and crop.
The coloring of 31 is also fantastic. It's not orange, but I'm a fan. Lastly, the composition of 27 is very nice :)

In that monthlyinspo set, I love the blending and compositions. You did such a wonderful job with the lighting and the different approaches to the colors in this, I'm in love. 8 is such a stunning icon? I also love 1, 4, 6 and 10 :D
The themeofthemonth set is just incredible. Orange is such a hard color to get right (I don't think I've ever successfully made anything orange-y, heh) but I loved how you applied it here with the lighting and the contrast, as well as the different types of crops. So, so good. (And as always, you managed to have many different, vibrant shades!) Love 11, 13, 16, 18 and 20 a lot <3
The others are also gorgeous. I still can't believe that Leslie icon (and the Lydia one) are 5 layers. I love the way you lit them and, as always, the colors and the text use are top-notch - how do you do it!?!? (Looking at that OUAT icon. The font for "forgiveness" is so appropriate!)
I am probably rambling but stunning work as usual ♥ The lighting is so amazing and, despite being "simpler", all the other elements shine. (And I feel you re life- at this point, it's a miracle if I do a set of five because my inspiration is never there when I want it. I admire you for making two great sets!)

Oh the only reason I was able to make these is by making myself a strict schedule for what I need to do each day. I'm a creature of habit for sure so if I take it as a habit to make one icon every day I can usually get 10-30 icons done in a month... However, I'd rather not make an icon during working days if I also have something else to watch that day, cause otherwise all my time will be spent on watching things :p so now I can pretty much only icon on weekends, which means that I'll definitely need to wait a bit before entering another 10+ set challenge, but hopefully I can still get some icontest entries done this month! (unless there's like an epically good monthlyinspo challenge coming next but I hope not for my own sanity, I really need a break xD)

In the ALT + Misc. set , icons 25 , 27 , 31 and 34 are the best in my opinion , also the crop of icon 33 is gorgeous.
But the showstealer aka the showstopper is the themeofthemonth set ! The harmony and cohesiveness of the set aside , the beautiful orange fire coloring and the lighting and beautiful crops are 12 , 14 , 15 , 19 and 20.
Saved the entire themeofthemonth set . Will credit of course when I upload. Thank you so much.
