Here's my set for monthlyinspo round 22, where we had to make icons inspired by movie posters. I came up with this idea of iconing my top 10 favorite live action movies, and each icon should be inspired by a poster of one of the other movies on my list.

I love that monthlyinspo is now a 10in30 style comm, as you can see I'm entering earlier than probably ever before so clearly this is working for me! I tried to be fast cause I'm thinking of also doing 20muses this month and I didn't want to lump these sets together because the styles will be very different. Instead I'm posting some other icons here as extras: a set for the7days, and some random 'practise icons' - I get rusty so fast that I need to keep making low-effort (= not for challenges) icons in order to not completely lose my touch, I like some of them so I wanted to post them here. (24 is from 2018 or maybe even 2017, I just found it from my computer, so if it looks familiar it's probably because I think I posted it at a_i at some point long ago).

That is such a cool idea for monthlyinspo! I picked random posters, but after three icons I kinda ran out of ideas. Good thing it's only ten icons I guess lol

Anyway, I love the composition and coloring of the set! 4, 6, 7 and 8 are soooo pretty. 5 fits so well to the original poster. I also really like the text use in this post, especially on 13 :D

The monthlyinspo inspo is brilliant and I think you did such a great job with it. I wasn't familiar with some of the posters (I feel like there are so many per movie) but you did capture their spirit in the icons and made some truly gorgeous icons <3 Hard to pick favorites (can I choose all ten?!) but I'll go with 1, 5, 7 and 10.

The others are equally great and beautiful. Have I mentioned how much I love your vibrant colors and compositions and lighting work lately? It's truly. 11 is probably one of my fave icons this year (and has been since I first saw it) -- it's wonderfully composed, text work is amazing and clever, and the color combination is truly amazing. But I could choose any of the others too (the cropping in 20 and 25! the lighting in 12, 14 26!, text work in 24 and 27)... gah. Icon maker envy.

I'm so glad you mentioned lighting - it's never been my strength, I used to make a lot of matte icons and I still consider that more of a signature style for me than this new shinier stuff I've made recently, but I get bored easily so I like to switch it around and try something new in every set :D

I'm using like half of your DW icons, you're my go-to maker when I want to upload something new :D I'm lucky that one of my faves icons stuff I've seen, it's pretty rare these days.

Lol there's no set yet, literally zero icons, but I'll try! I really hope you find the inspiration for the rest of the set, how many icons are missing? My favorite method to find inspiration is to rewatch a movie or an episode and take notes, like quotes, general themes, and which scenes had good caps, but it's a super time-consuming way to icon, so it doesn't work for everyone.

Wow, that's an awesome and creative idea for monthlyinspo. I don't know any (well, two) of the fandoms, nor the posters, but I did recognize the Rocky Horror poster style - it's iconic enough that even I got it. :D

I love 4 and 8 and 10 - great coloring that is very "you". I also love 14, 18, 21, 23, 24, and 26.

(I did it the other way around and started with 20muses which I just finished today, and now I have a bit over ten days left to go hunt for movie posters. Yay!)

Your compositions always floor me, in particular, 1, 2, 6 and 11. The coloring and everything really about 8 is just unreal. I can't get over it. And A++ coloring of 4, you captured the film SO WELL! 19 and 24 is just a spectacular use of color & text too!
