Ok so this is going to be a WEIRD explanation, but since you asked... :D Sometimes when I want to make a multifandom set, I do this thing where I randomize the subjects (from a list of shows/movies that have been iconned and posted at boxedcolors) and then watch an episode of that show and take notes and afterwards create an icon from it. It's a great way to add fandom variety and make sure that I'm inspired every time. So my initial thought was to make this entire set that way, with 20 random fandoms, buuut then the DW ideas kinda took over so not all of the subjects were selected that way, but anyway that's how the AoS icon came to be.
