Oh man, I miss having the time to make icons... it was a struggle to finish even these and most of them aren't even colored lol. But I can't complain cause at least I now finally have a job...

So anyway, these are for the 8th round of monthlyinspo. The theme was Bump in the Night, which I didn't take super literally because I'm not a horror guy at all so there are few actual monsters in my fandoms :p What I did instead was try to make somewhat creepiness-inspired icons and make horrory looking icons even for some randomized subjects that are basically the opposite of that. Some of these make more sense than others. I don't really have much to say about these cause honestly I've been kinda drained (starting at a new place can be so exhausting but I do hope I'll get used to it soon and get over the stress), and also there's a new Survivor season with ALL THE PODCASTS so that's what I do with my free time now, but hey I still managed to find at least some time for icons and experiment with a new (for me) style which was fun! :)

Okay, so I can't do creepy very well but these are very nice icons nonetheless. I do really like the last two very much though.

It always makes me glad to see that someone still thinks about Farscape even after all these years. Where do you get your caps from?

Thank you, I don't think I can do creepy very well either tbh, it's like the opposite of my usual style :p But heyy another Farscape fan! I LOVE that show. It was the only show I iconned during my first year of iconing. Scorpius, Harvey, Chiana and Sikozu are still among my favorite characters of any show. Unfortunately the caps are SO hard to work with, so I don't icon it often anymore, but there have been a few bluray caps of the first season shared here: http://farscape-20in20.livejournal.com/58527.html (that was a long long time ago though so idk if the links work anymore)
when I want caps of the rest of the episodes I just take them myself, I haven't shared them anywhere cause I only have them for a few episodes and I can't figure out the hosting/uploading side of things anyway.

Yep, they're all down! :( Oh well. I probably should dig out my DVDs and cap them myself like I do with Stargate when I get the need to make Stargate icons. It's a shame because Farscape was so amazing and really ahead of its time with a lot of stuff.

HONESTLY you achieved your goal! These icons really look creepy – that New Girl one? I would've never guessed it was NG, it looks like a dark fairy tale film/show *O*. Your colourings are stonishingly beautiful, 13, 16 and 18 in particular left me speechless. And of course same goes for your compositions: 2, 3, 7 and 10 are mesmerising. Oh & I also LOVE your text placement, you are far too good at it ♥

Oh, there are lovely (maybe not the right word)! Amazing text and compositions as usual! My faves are 2, 3, 7, 15 and 20. :)

I wish I'd discovered this challenge earlier, but I only noticed it a couple days ago and there was no way I could make 20 icons then :(

Aw, too bad you missed this challenge. I'm not gonna be able to participate next month, cause I'm trying to do NaNoWriMo for the first time since 2010. I don't know if that is still even a thing but I just feel like writing something now :)

Oh, yeah, those are unusual. I love the animated Dorian Gray, it is very fitting. Ooh, 6 is awesome! I always loved the thingies on her head, she's great for horror-themed icons. Pinocchio-Scorpy is awesome, too!

I really like the minimalism in 8, and the paint blobs in 10. I love compositions with paint. I'm definitely going to snag that one for inspiration.

11 is great, I am not usually a fan of obscured faces, but once in a while an interpretation comes along that I like. This is very cool, and also fits the modern urban style of the show.

13 is awesome, his face almost springing from the depths. Great shading/contrast there!

I'm super glad you like 10. It doesn't make sense as a 'monster' icon unless you know the Locke / smoke monster connection in Lost, but yeah the paint is supposed to represent dark smoke :) I totally understand your opinion on obscured faces! I like that style, but only when I 'get' what the idea is, so sometimes I only start liking the icon after I read the maker's thoughts on it. But the one I made is fairly obvious, I think :D

Amazing designs! The vintage poster you made with the Farscape cap looks so cool, the aged/grungy coloring or texturizing on the New Girl Dorian ones is so pretty and also like how spooky the OUaT ones look. I love UnLocke/AntiLocke with the smoky elements, the icon though not the character he was the worse guy. 😄
