Here's my set for the 7th round of [livejournal.com profile] monthlyinspo, the theme was Back to School. Out of the subthemes, I chose to focus on 'History' because it's so different from my usual style and because I've actually been really into some period films and shows lately! (If you have a favorite period film, I'd love to hear recs. I'm not interested in wars, royalty, political history, very dark or brutal periods, or ~big stuff like that... but slice of life / drama / romance period films that focus more on individual characters, those are my jam rn). I haven't seen enough of those yet to make a full set out of them so the rest is just random fandoms :D But to make this a bit more challenging, I also wanted to use the other themes mixed with the History theme. I left one theme out ('Art - out of the box, painted, stock') because it was pretty much what my last set was about, but I used the rest of the themes and tried to do that in a way that still kept the set cohesive, so I only used some parts of the subthemes.

Hope you'll like the set, this is an extra multifandom post so hover for fandom!

Ooooh, wow, yes, these are unusual for you! But you can do every style well!

I never even thought of using blocking as the geometric element on science, duh. It looks amazing. I really like 5,6,7, and 11. 11 especially has that overpowering black frame, which I wouldn't have dared use but that works really well.

I love the motion in 12! A very emotional icon.

The last row is awesome, too. I especially like 17 (yay Raylan!), the complex composition in 18 is just wow.

Great, great set!

Thank you very much for the lovely comment!
LOL I thought blocking was like the most obvious choice for geometric element, but I'm glad you like the choice :)
I'm still on the fence about the frame on 11, it's funny that you picked up on that! It was a struggle to find a balance between too dark to be overpowering ands too light to look like it no longer 'supports' the character visually. Idk, it could still use some work, so not my favorite icon here but I'm glad and surprised you liked it! :)
Thank you for all the kind words!
