Here are the various icons I've made for misc icon comms in January. idk what's going on but I had a very active iconing month (for me). I just got my inspiration back, even for some other shows than the ones I'm the most passionate about, so now I can do my usual randomizing thing and stuff like that. Yay! This batch is quite varied in techniques and styles cause a lot of different things inspired me this month, and I've been trying to push myself a little out of my box sometimes, like participating in the close crops challenges that two comms happened to have this month. I already have so many ideas for what I want to do with icons next, so stay tuned I guess?? :D Anyway, hope you enjoy some of these! ♥

Snagging a couple Lost icons (so glad the Lost love is still alive! I especially love the Hurley one and #3) and the Malia TW and Sherlock ones. As always, I love your colors and your amazing composition!

So many gorgeous, pretty colors as always! A few of these icons actually give me absolutelybatty vibes (which is obviously an awesome thing), namely for the text use, like 13 and 33. 33 is particularly wonderful with that lighting, and the text is so masterfully used. I love text that has a bit of its own lighting and depth going on.

Digging the colors on 3, the painted look on 12, and the beautiful coloring and lighting in 14. It's such a simple icon, but the colors pop so nicely, and I love the glowiness. 17 and 18 are two of my favorite icons here. Love the crop, coloring and great text use in 17, and the colors and composition (that texture use) of 18 work brilliantly together. Wonderful funky colors and framing in 26. The icon is so fun and I love the drawn look of her hair.

Thanks so much for the wonderful comments. But nooo please don't compare these to batty's gorgeous work since these really don't compare, lol. I WISH. :') (the shiny the7days set was probably subconsciously inspired by her + nightbulbs coloring and lightingwise cause they're my lighting idols but I didn't really think the text was like her at all cause hers are super creative while I was a bit lazy with my font choices and everything but that makes me even more happy to hear you like it so much!)

Love the coloring and the crayon font in 3, the composition with that lightly texturized look in 5, the awesome complementary coloring in 6, the grunginess in 8. The way you combined cool, flat coloring with something frilly like hair painting in 12 is amazing. I think I have said somewhere else how much I love 22 and 27. You did great with brownish coloring that is unusual for you in 23 and 28 - so much depth. I don't know what exactly I like about 29, I'm too wimpy myself to make bold faceless compositions like that, but damn, it works. Last but not least, I love the glowy coloring of 31.


p.s.: are you still interested in that song set battle we talked about last year, or is that too much of a narrow commitment right now? I am thinking about starting it towards the end of the month, if anyone beside myself is willing to play.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments!! Faceless cropping and faceless blocking like in 29 used to be more popular back when I first started iconing. It was so common that I kinda thought it was boring cause it was everywhere, but now that it isn't, it's starting to look nice to me again. That's a continuing theme in this set tbh, there's a lot of older iconing styles going on here :)

oohh right, I had totally forgotten about that song battle! Tbh I'm the worst at committing to something (I never know in advance if I have an idea for something or not), plus I have several personal projects and some other challenges going on atm, so I definitely encourage you to find at least a few other people so it's not totally dependent on my participation. Buuut, if it happens, I'm not saying I won't participate cause it does sound fun and I always like anything that helps me come up with text on icons! So it's definitely a maybe. If the deadline is long enough I think I could manage?

Oh gosh, I just love 21. The use of the background like that just really works and the colouring is so spot on and the lighting really adds something here. I also love 31, for some reason you make that bright colouring like that work. The icon just shines and speaks. I also adore the colouring in 20, it's so fitting. And oh 5 is stunning and so is the colouring in 25. The cropping and lighting in 8 and 14 is beautiful and I just love the whole feel that you created in 13. So beautiful.
