33 Donna Noble icons

Well, I guess I have some Donna Noble (Doctor Who) icons for 20inspirations... This was a regular 20in20 round which was a really interesting twist, I haven't completed a regular 20in20 round in a while and had forgotten how difficult it can be trying to match the themes, haha!

er, ok, so this is another set finished at the last possible hour and I really really struggled with it, everything seemed really difficult and nothing looks like I planned. If it weren't for vampire_sessah and raiindust (and the fact that the more Donna icons are needed in the world) I would have probably given up with this set, so thanks a lot for the support :> ♥
The category set was the most difficult by far, I have no idea how to use crops that aren't center crops with negative space :p also idk why this set is so weird, I guess I just wanted to experiment a lot. But all that being said, I'm just so happy I actually finished this challenge! \o/

Anyway, hope you like some of these, comments would of course make my day, I'm really behind with my own commenting this round but I'll remedy that asap!

HOW DO YOU DO IT. SO MUCH BEAUTY AND THAT TOO IN SUCH A SHORT WHILE.

JUST LOOK AT THE BEAUTY IN THIS POST. I swear to god, I am not lying, it is a beautiful gorgeous post filled with loveliness.

My favourites :

Blocking - There are circles and straight lines. DAMMIT, that is like super inventive and I love the richness of the colours!

Down The Rabbit Hole - Textures, colour and text. A trifecta of awesome.

Chiaroscuro - ...hotdamn... Such a beautiful, smooth and gorgeous icon. And the light and dark is SO perfect. SO PERFECT.

13 (obscure crops) - Is PERFECT. The colours, the crop, the texture, it is just a perfect icon.

Artists Choice - Your entire set is making me want to flip my laptop. *headesk*. Because I will never be able to apsire to such composition loveliness.

It's a beautiful set that is perfectly representative of your aesthetic. 18 in particular owns my heart!

31 is so perfectly monotone, I CANT. :')

it's so very rare that you find so many donna noble icons that are so well made as these ones are—and as she's my favourite character on the show, you can imagine how sad that fact makes me. basically, i really love all these icons; they're all just really creative and nice. my favourites are 4, 5, 11, and 33. lovely batch! :'D

Oh my goodness, I love all of these!! There are never enough Donna icons (everybody likes to do Rose and Amy, which while not bad, leaves Donna and Martha out in the cold), so thank you for such fantastic icons! I will be snagging many of these. :D

THESE ARE GREAT THESE ARE GREAT OK. 1 is gorgeous, the best of the lot, tbh. I don't know how you do composition so well but it is delicious. Down the Rabbit Hole is exactly as it should be. I love the drastic text use and the coloring is beautiful. 5 is perfect. You've got flawless coloring. Retro is brilliant. Again, you're so skilled with composition.

10 is just about as good as 1 alright, now I don't know. The coloring is perfect but the lighting, ugh. Give it to me. Coloring in crop 3 and the entirity of crop 1, YEP GOOD. I've tried to icon that cap so many times but it's never come out right. And 20, 20 IT IS VERY GOOD. Easy on the eyes. Digging 24 for the crazy coloring and 26 for that sort of dead, pastel, retro coloring. It's my favorite of your coloring techniques.

33 is amazing. It looks like you ripped it out of the Journal of Impossible Things. So of course I love it. Saving 800 of these for reasons.

How do you ICON ?!?! Really thisis always such a mystery to me! It's FUCKING MAGIC (sorry about the abuse of caplock and swearwords there but it was appropriate for the cause^^)

My favourite of your set are Down the rabbit Hole (seriously you said that that wasn't planned right? omg that icons looks so damn fantastic!) You already know that I totally dig Minimalism and that hasn't changed a bit, it's simply stunning! Retro because I love the weird composition (those are speciality of yours!! ♥) and the text is amazing too! AC3 & AC4 are amazing too!

I also really like 27, 29 & 32 of your alts/extras!! ♥

Yep, I had no actual idea for what to do with DTRH, and I stressed about it a bit knowing it'd have to be pretty extreme considering that my usual stuff is already a bit weird. I'm glad you think it works though! ♥

wow i am late to the party, but better late than never, right? :D

SO MUCH DONNA WIN OMG THIS POST IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

the composition and colouring of pastel = epic win! and down the rabbit hole, holy crapnuts that is literally the most creative and unique icon i've seen in a while! O: it is so beautiful and the cool monochrome colours work so so so well with the text and the close crop just wOW.i love all the artistic choices you made for that icon! *Q* and minimalism reminds me of a tumblr graphic, the composition is gorgeous. and the ~faded out masking effect is terrific *_* it looks so simple and elegant! and i really like how almost everything in the icon is b&w and then suddenly bAM! donna's hair is all burgundy and pretty :D

vibrant makes me want to cry because i can never ever achieve such vibrant and not radioactive icons ;A: just HOW?!??????. wow. it's like she's a cartoon or animation! the effect is mindblowingly beautiful. and ofc your signature magenta/purple tones that are just like cotton candy. and her hair is like on fire omg i love it so much. border's composition is super intriguing. and OMG faceless kills me dead. LITERALLY DEAD. it's like a painting *Q* so beautiful and the colour combinations are just wiebeiwrbgeirgbnejugn SO MUCH BEAUTY. and idek how you manage to bring out such colours out of dw caps that are not like the new new hq ones??? omg i sense some black magic and supernatural powers involved :P as soon as i saw there's a retro theme you're the first person that popped to my mind! i just knew you're totally going to ROCK that icon and of course you did. just look at that icon omg. it looks like a retro poster! i love it :D and the arrows look so fun with the blue and dark oranges of the background. your obscure crops are also really gorgeous. especially love 1, because it's so simple and the monochrome is so pretty! and then there's 3 OHMYGOD. how do you colour?!?!?!????????????? this is absolute sorcery. her lips and hair work so well with the blues of the medallion (?) and the background. just all kinds of genius. ac 2 is kind of slaying me tbh. the lime green colours are making me very happy. i just love your iconing palette, you use such unique colours that are so ~you :D and the blocking is fantastic obviously. and ac 3 and 4 are stunning, but my favs from this entire post are vibrant, down the rabbit hole, FACELESS (#1 5eva) and now ac5. omg everything about that icon is stunning. it looks like a classic design logo of a game of something?? i love how donna and the tardis totally stand out from the dark background! magnificent work with dark greys *_____* just WOW WOW WOW.

and i'm totally in love with 23 and 29 OMG i am obsessed with the painty effect because i can never do it well and admire people who can paint over hair and just anything in an icon and make it look so good ;A; beautiful explosion of oranges, reds, yellows, magentas, just all the pretty colours of a rainbow + skittles :D

i need to clear out some icon spaces, because there's so many icons from here i nEED to have!!!

Omglol I never bring out any colors though, I just... forcibly insert them by gradient maps (in this case: a default orange-purple one on soft light) so in the end it doesn't even resemble the original cap, and when people talk of subtly bringing out the natural colors of caps I'm like 'one day I'll learn that I swear but for now have some BRUTE FORCE .___.' Glad you like it though!! :D

and then there's 3 OHMYGOD. how do you colour?!?!?!?????????????

...that one was just another case of said forcible coloring, even more literally: (I think?) I just made it bw first and then made this reeeeaally obvious unnatural recoloring on it, haha. Idk why I keep trying that style so often cause I'm never happy with my results but wow, I'm so flattered that you seem to like it :O
(also the 'medallion' is actually one of the adipose fat pills in a chain of some sort :D)

I had no idea what i was even doing with ac5 so it really warms my heart that your reaction to it was so positive ;__;
