68 multifandom icons + 1 larger graphic

The first thing here is my

farscape_20in20 entry, this round was an inpiration mini bang, so this consists of one tutorial (10pts), one Tumblr graphic (except it's in LJ so it's not really a 'tumblr graphic', and it's crappy cause I've never done these things before but I really quite liked the experience; so much room but not too much to be overwhelming! Anyway I get 4pts for that), and the rest is 6 icons (6x1pt = 6pts) so it all adds up to the required 20.

You are definitely my favourite Doctor Who iconmaker. I don't have a clue how you do it, but it sure is amazing and impressive! They way you colour them and.. and the compositions? Damn, how d'you do it, Tommi? 14 and 15 are incredible! I absolutely love the grungy, dark but still vibrant colouring in 24 (and the cap of Rose is great aswell!) I'm not much of a fan of - oops unpopular opinion - Martha, but I am a fan of the 34th icon :D

I haven't really watched the other films/shows in this post, but I think 57, 59, 62 and 65 are awesome! (And I should totally watch Brokeback Mountain in the near future..)

Gaah, wow I have no idea what to say except you flatter me way too much, there are so many fantastic DW iconers, HOW COULD I BE SOMEONES FAVORITE omg ;__; *___* thank you so so much anyway, that would mean so much from anyone tbh but especially from an icon genius like you, omg. Thank you!!!

Haha, I don't think disliking Martha is rare at all - I've seen less love for her than the other companions. I personally love alll of them though, but I'm easy to please I guess :D And yes, I really recommend Brokeback Mountain, I haven't seen it in years but it's still one of my favorites!

Fascape icons are bright and pretty and colorful! Love the pop color of 1 and 2 and really like 5! Love the texture usage.

Doctor Who icons are epic as usual. :) Love 14, 15, 19 and 21

Never watched BSG, but 45 is EPIC, love the blending. Also really like 47 and 48.

Le Mis 59 is awesome. And love the brightness of the Trek icon. :)

I'm really digging your texture usage in a lot of these. I like that you're using textures as bases, rather than overlays and such and it's looking fantastic! Great job as usual. :)

Oh wow, what a fantastic comment, thank you so much!! What you say about the texture use (as bases) is really interesting, I haven't thought of it much but now that you mention it that's pretty much exactly how I use them most of the time :D it's fun but also frustrating cause it usually means cutting things out which is half the reason why I'm so slow at iconing!

WOW, the Scorpy / Braca things are GORGEOUS! That tumblr graphic is seriously awesome, no need to belittle it. :) And your icons are amazing as always. I especially like the BSG icons - yes, mostly because of the simplicity, you know me, but that second one? AMAZING CROP! And the coloring is stunning.

I also adore what you did with 'my' DW caps (god, I totally didn't go through that big post carefully enough, I totally missed those D:). I'm gonna snatch both of them if you don't mind. :) And now I'm going to look if anyone else did anything snatchworthy with them. LOL

So, yes, great work as always. :)

And I wanted to say, I totally missed you yesterday. D: EVIL INTERNET! Or computer or whatever the problem was. :( I brought my friend to chat and I would have loved for you to meet her. :/ *sadface*

Aw, thank you so much - I've seen lots of gorgeous tumblr graphics lately and mine just looks so amateurish in comparison, haha! But I'm happy you like it so much, and I suppose I shouldn't be so hard on myself regarding it since a first experiment at anything is bound to be a bit bad :D

Those DW posts had 254565676878 icons so no wonder if a few went unnoticed - I'm glad you like what I did with your caps, and ofc feel free to snag them ~~especially if it makes you use Red Aeryn less often~~!

I have noooo idea what happened at chat, mibbit just decided to deny me the remains of my already nonexistent social life .__. I'm still not sure if the problem was with the server or with my connection, but I really hope it will work this week. YOU MISSED ALL MY SQUEE ABOUT THE J/S-FUL ENDING D:

Hmm, I should try iconing BM more at some point, it's quite iconable with all that gorgeous scenery! Unfortunately I've only been able to find a few good quality caps of it this far, plus it's been years since I watched it so I'm not quite as obsessed with it rn as with DW, Farscape and Les Mis. But we'll see, maybe when I have more time! :>

I've already said so many things about so many of these icons because they're great, but those Les Miserables icons. So lovely. The subtle lighting in 57 is nicely done, and the texture use, composition and colors in 59 are just perfect. That one's probably my favorite thing in this entire post. And the lovely soft blending, coloring, and text in 64! Those font choices fit the icon to a T and look great together.

Also that last favorite of yours was somewhat inspired by you and your awesome use of greens - part of our challenge was to pick colors we don't usually use in icons and well try and use them now, and I was like 'OH WELL IT'S GREEN ISN'T IT good thing there's scoobs to inspire me with her perfect use of dark greens' :>

LOL, I signed up right before you did! :D even though I really really shouldn't, I was supposed to focus on uni and leave iconing for a while and I would have but goddamnit frelling 20insp does a TEXT ROUND how am I gonna skip that no you can't just throw a thing like that at a recovering icon addict ;__; really I just want to see if there's been any progress from my first and only text batch which happened about half a year ago - I'm really happy to hear you see some progress even just from post to post, I always fear I'm going south with everything lately, haha!! I can't wait to see your own batch :D ~~just please post it after me so you won't set the bar impossibly high like you did last time you evil person~~

You know I am a huge fan of yours! The mix of dark and light is stunning and I am especially in love with your BSG icons. 51 is exactly what I mean about light and dark. So pretty. Compositions are crazy creative like (pretty much all the DW icons) 14 & 19 are my favs! Gorgeous set and snagging too many to mention :D

A while back you told me you didn't think you'd developed a style yet and can I just say that that definitely isn't true any longer? Also if this is something I've already said then forgive the repetition. Sometimes there's something I love so much about a person's work that I bring it up every time I comment on a post and then I start sounding like a broken record...:P

In this case, I adore your composition! I love how you mix text and textures in such creative ways - 4 and 14 being perfect examples! Also, the painted hauntes-esque vibe to your work is stunning! I especially love 24 and 40 :) Also, and I know that this I've said before but can I just re-iterate how gorgeous some of the simpler icons in this post are? 46 and 55 totally rock my socks! :D

I'm not sure if you've said that before but thanks for saying it anyway - I think you might be onto something there; I remember stressing about my stylelessness for the majority of the last year, and even trying to develop/stick to a style (that muted, grungy phase I had in November I think), and now suddenly I feel like I do have a 'thing' that just developed on its own when I stopped trying :O weird... but still, I don't see it as anything restrictive cause I still make a lot of icons outside it anyway, it's just nice to know think that my stuff isn't quite as random as it was a few months ago, hee.

Also, CONGRATS SO MUCH FOR GETTING INTO 20INSP, I'm soooo glad to see you there and looking forward to your first entry - not the easiest first round for anyone I suppose, but I know you'll do excellent! :>

Holy jeezus, these are gorgeous! I'm in awe of your compositions, like...how do you even come up with them? They're amazing! And you're coloring is gorgeous too. I love how you can get a vibrant coloring but still have a vintage/retro feel to the icons without losing any quality :D

My favorites are 1-68 (seriously, I started listing them individually, but then realized I was listing each icon anyways, so...yeah :P )

I looooooove all the geometric shapes (SO MANY SQUARES!) you've used and how you've cropped together the tumblr graphic in different combinations to make your alt Farscape icons. I also really like how you made the Chiana icons in a sort of pop-art style. It really fits Chiana as a character (bold and in your face, but in the case of the pink, still feminine).

Other than the Farscape ones, I love your BSG set. So pretty and vintagey.

Omg, thank you so much for this lovely comment! YES, I'm definitely into all kinds of geometry/pop-arty shapes and blocks etc and totally overuse them all the time, haha.

I'm surprised at how many have mentioned the BSG set as favorite - it was the one that I was least happy with, for some reason they took an awful lot of time while most of the results still look unimpressive to me, but well it's just great to hear differing opinions of course! :DD

Maybe it's time for me to watch Brokeback Mountain because damn but that second icon is so gorgeous, breathtaking even! And I can't not mention the second and sixth icon from your Farscape post however I need to know what is written "junior ?? of the universe". Okay, now you know I've gotten a bit rusty but yeah, that's life and not watching Farscape in a :;cough cough:: while makes that to you. [::hmm:: I wonder about fictions... I'd check them out!] And also I'm not touching that Doctor Who post with a ten feet pole because I won't stop rambling and we know no one would like to hear that ;D let's go with I loooooove - 14, 16, 19, 25, 27, 30, 34, 39 and 40 - so hard ;D plastic-aly hard but yeah ;D hard nonetheless! [ I'd stop reading fictions, they make me craaaaazy]

I'm really glad someone likes 6 cause it's possibly my personal favorite here. The text says 'Junior miss tough chick of the universe', which I always thought was such an apt and funny quote about Chi. I kinda sacrificed readibility for compositiony purposes there, haha, but this worked better for me than the other text arrangements I tried.
