Doctor Who icon battle, part 2

The results of a Doctor Who icon battle extra challenges, featuring

bizarra,

erinm_4600,

john_scorpy,

ladyhadhafang,

mizz_destiny and

thyla87!

For this battle we had three kinds of challenges: primary caps, which everyone had to icon, and secondary caps and themes, which were both optional.

As there are so many icons to post, I'm splitting this into two posts: Part 1 consists of the primary cap icons, while this part is for the extra challenges (themes + secondary caps). We could either mix and match the themes with the caps, or pick our own caps for the themes; if the icon fills two prompts it's only posted once though, so hover to see if a secondary cap icon was also made for one of the themes!

Oh wow, LOVE the coloring on that Donna one! Gorgeous vibrant pinks and purples and great texture use/lighting too. The levels in the 11/River one work great and the vintage feel in the 8th doctor one is really cool, especially the muted colors and the frame!

Ok, so the Donna one has just PERFECT coloring, I adore that combination of really muted browns and then the purple that pops against it and fits it great at the same time. Gorgeous! Love the soft vibrancy in the Rose and and the vintage coloring of 8th doctor too.

So many lovely icons - you were the only one to go for the max amount of icons so props for that! Wow, that first pick has fantastic coloring, love its vibrant glow and how many distinctive colors it has all working so well together. Stunning icon. Also the B&W one gives me major feels because sdsdfdf that moment ;__; Love the crop and contrast. Love the natural coloring and the composition in Levels, and Cap5 has a really intriguing, mysterious look with the strong light effect, really cool icon!

Ok, I'm a big fan of that first icon - it's so minimal otherwise but then that little bar on the left gives it a really cool, composed look and the result looks superb! I really love the glow and colors of the Rose one, and the subtle contrast and super pretty colors of the Donna icon too and the text adds a great touch to it :)

Wow at the colors in that 8th Doctor one!! It has a fantastic lighting, and the purple of his coat looks so great aganst the warm yellows. The monochrome Rose has lovely lighting as well and the blues are really gorgeous! Love the creative composition of the Levels one too.

Thanks for showing your favorites here as well! I couldn't resist iconing some 3/Delgado, and that theme was just perfect for them. Glad you like the result, as well as the other two which are some of those rare cases where I didn't use any textures but just focused on coloring instead. Maybe I should try that more often, if I find caps with enough colors to draw out :)

Exactly, this is why I love icon battles! Most often I'm so impressed by how differently people handle the same caps, and a lot of icons make me think 'wow, why didn't I think of that?' And then there are those funny cases where there are more similarities - like with cap 9 here, something about it just screams 'center crop with negative space' so I'm not surprised most of us went with almost the same crop! :D
