Um, I don't have much to say about this set, the challenge itself was awesome but major RL stress has been eating away my inspiration and the result doesn't feel like 'me' at all save for a few icons. Then again it was kinda fun too to make some simpler and more lighting-y icons for a change, I think that also helped me highlight the moods better, but at the same time I don't think I'll continue in this direction, and while I think they're nice enough, I don't think it's the best I could have done. So yeah, not sure what to think of this set, but I hope someone will like some of these :D

1 - pleasantly surprised, thrilled, can't believe her eyes; really vibrant neon color explosions.
2 - joy; yellow
3 - attraction; pink
4 - sense of togetherness, hope; earthy, warm browns
5 - 'blank', neutral, casual; muted, light browns
6 - appreciation of the past, respect, subdued sadness. wow, what a weird description, it makes more sense when you know the scene (from the end of Family of Blood). Anyway I chose a toned down vintage coloring with a bit of muted turquoise (which reminds me of the 'subdued sadness' part).
7 - confused; a conflict of colors, a weird combination of dark green and pale orange.
8 - worried; also turquoise but deeper and darker than in the vintage icon.
9-11 - defiance; (darkish) orange. Martha is at her best with this emotion imo, which is why I made three for it. In 9 it even looks like she's eyerolling at The Master :D 10 and 11 are from the same episode too, she's really defiant and determined against The Master and as much as I love the guy, Martha is really awesome and HBIC in those scenes.
12 - anger; red
13 - anger, action/fight. Reds and oranges.
14 - mysterious; purple
15 - surreal, weirded out; a really weird, unnatural neon color combination.
16 - scared, distressed; black
17 - quiet sadness; really pale blue
18 - melancholy, loneliness; deeper blue
19 - indescribable sort of melancholy, a bit surreal - they're looking at the ruins of a past civilization. I associate that with really muted and dark blue/purple tones.
20 - desperation, deep sadness; darkness, blue tones, pale/colorless
Then there's a dump of stuff I've been posting to various comms, mostly

I'd love any and all comments of course! :>

I think you've got such a distinctive style with textures and it makes for some truly outstanding icons. #15 for example is a wonder! The colors are so bold and dark and there's so much going on but the icon is not cluttered or busy.
That dark coloring has be pretty dominant in your work over the past months and it's really incredibly eye catching. So many people (including myself) shy away from dark, muted colors that your posts are always so refreshing. I particularly love 13, 28 and 34 (also the lighting on 34 is far, far too gorgeous to properly describe. Maybe when I've gotten over the major crush I have on this post ;D)
Lastly I absolutely cannot end this comment without paying homage to so truly spectacular crops. I'm looking at #3 in particular but 34 and 53 are just as beautiful! Really stunning post Tommi (I hope I'm getting your name right). Your icons have been incredible high quality of late :D

And aw, cropping hasn't usually been something I pay that much attention to, so I'm glad that people mention them now that I actually thought of them much more than usual :) (I made a new year's resolution to go do more with cropping, and my first post of the year did nothing of the sort, so I thought now would be a good time to try :D)
