somein30 round 13: Icon crossing, where the idea was to "cross" random pairs of our own previous icons. I used Extra hard mode, where even the screencaps had to be recycled from one of the parent icons. This was a huge time saver, since I didn't have to do much screencap hunting - maybe extra hard was the easiest mode actually :DYou can see the parent icons under the spoiler cut - warning though that some of them are butt-ugly (looking at you, parent 9.2!)... Hopefully the new versions work better, although some of them are kinda crazy as well, I mean, if your parents are the freaking fifth pair, the child will come out weird ok xD Anyway, it was super nostalgic to see these old icons again and nice to even see some progress after all. Because of the random parents, the styles in this post had to be a mix as well - I usually prefer to make cohesive sets, but embraced the variety here, hopefully that means there will be at least something for everyone! :)
The biggest surprise for me was that there were so many DW icons in the parents, I expected to see more LOST. Has DW been my main iconing fandom after all?

I'm sure others have said it before but you must be the reigning master supreme of blocking or something. It's something I associate with your icons and something you seem to pull off so effortlessly. 13 in particular is just, I don't know. It's just wow. I also really love the simpler composition in 1 and 11. The cleanliness of 1 in particular is really eye-catching. Or maybe it's the complementary colours? Either way, it's a really pretty icon.
I love the crop, monochrome and text work in 2 and 16, the muted colours in those and in 12 are incredibly lovely.
I think you're actually just the master supreme of composition to be honest. The longer I look at these icons the more I find to love. 17 and 18 fly under the radar at first glance but after a few moments my eyes just keep getting drawn back to them. There's so little to fault on either of them. Composition, colouring, they're got it all!
My absolute favourite of this entire set, though, I think is 5. I honestly don't know how you pulled it off but everything about it is just wow. The painted effect is spot on execution wise, the colour choices are perfect, the brightness and sharpness are also incredible. It's just a really, really phenomenal icon ❤️

As for the blocking, 13 was heavily inspired by good old school blocking masters such as

It's crazy to think that we first interacted TEN YEARS AGO (holy shit, has it really been that long??), when I for some reason tried to give you concrit even though I was soooo new and bad at icons and had no idea what I was talking about xD

I love 1, 2, 3, 5 (wooo! To get that particular icon to remake! \o/), 7, 8 (this one looks so much like all of mine, oops :D), 11 (I love how the more simple composition fits with the text better than in the original one imho), 13, 14 (so clean!), 15, and 18.

The composition here are crazy good??! Especially on 3, 4, 14 & 18! The complexity of 6 & 14 is so great, and I love how great the lighting looks in 8 & 11. I love the colors on 10, and compostion on 12, 15 and 18!

And the compositions — geometric shapes in 4, silhouette in 6 and complex composition in 12 are soooo good! But my absolute favorite is 10, I love this screencap and you did such a beautiful job with crop and color splashes matching the whole mood of screencap, I just love it so much<3

2 — I love how this turn out; the mood, muted coloring and text are perfect! I love how deep the crop is!
3 — Incredible monochrome face on Michael and Lincoln!! I love the gradient maps so much and composition here<3
4 — Breathtaking!! Vibrant colors are stunning and I love text! Square texture is stunning and the way text color change is fantastic
5 — Omg!! Painty texture (or brush?) is fantastical!! I love vibrant color!
7 — Your monochrome face/icons are amazing! I always love the results. text is incredible and I love different font and red bg
10 — So eye catching! I love texture use here and crop is breathtaking! Her lips are perfect coloring and I loveeeee her hair!
12 — Another master piece! <3 Blending, colors text, texture, contrast! everything here is perfect!
15 — Marvellous movement/double effect! So stunning and I love the colors.
18 — I always love your blocking skills! They are unique and stunning and so it this one, too! :) I love the screencaps on the top and red strong color. I also loe the circle and the color composition. Fantastic! Set-up is perfect!
20 — Magnificent lighting/contrast/shadow!! The colors composition is breathtaking and I love text♥
