Alright, so here's a last minute entry for monthlyinspo round 20. The theme was music, and I didn't want to use it the same way I did in this 10in30 entry where I used lyrics on everything, so I went with a very simple interpretation this time and chose to icon Pitch Perfect. It took a while for me to come up with anything fitting so only icons 1-12 are inspired by the theme.
The 'look' I went for here was pretty much just pastelly colors, and simple compositions with lots of negative space. Personally it's not my favorite set and I'm not super proud of it cause I feel like I can make better icons, but then again there are so many different tastes and sometimes icons I hate end up being someones favorites so I figured why not post anyway and see if someone likes it. Sometimes a simple icon with nice colors can be enough, I'll probably do something a bit more creative next! Besides, I still have icons from 2018 to post and it's not enough for an icon dump (which I hate posting anyway), so this is the only way I'm gonna get them posted :p

Please let me know if you like some of these! I know I haven't been around much again, I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed cause there's so much going on and so many end of the year posts have been made and I want to check them all out now that I may have more time. The past Survivor season took a lot of dedication cause I wanted to visit the Reddit all the time and listen to all the podcasts, and also I got this giant puzzle as a Christmas present so I've been addicted to solving it :p But I'm almost done with it and it's offseason from Survivor, so now I'll try to make time for being a part of the icon world again and hope that it can maybe bring out some new inspiration.

Yeah challenging myself stylewise was all I did last year! This wasn't as big of a stretch as say the bw set, but it was still a struggle trying to keep them not neon, and simple without feeling like they're plain. It's funny how I adore simple and muted icons by other makers, just not my own. But I gotta keep changing it up cause there was a point when I realized that the more I use the same style the less impact it will have, so I gotta come up with new things to experiement with and I intend to continue. It's just super counterintuitive to always go for something that I know is not my strength when I know I could make better icons in my signature techniques, but well, it is what it is.
