Here's my set for the very first round at a new comm, monthlyinspo! I love that there's a lot of room for ACs in this community cause lately I've had a lot of inspiration and ideas.

While I've been sort of back from hiatus since the end of last year, I hadn't felt like I had quite made a total return yet, so the goal here was to make a set that is very my style but turned up to eleven. I'm so proud of this set, a massive amount of time and energy went into these, so even if nobody else likes these at least I can say I reached my own goal.
I wanted to make a multifandom set and specifically use Survivor and Free! because there's a lot of blue water opportunities in both, but somehow after watching s4 and rewatching s3 of Sherlock I had so many ideas just for that one show that this somehow became a Sherlock set. The reactions to s4 seem to be negative or mixed but I personally loved it, I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on s4 if you've seen it :>

Icons 1-9 were more or less inspired by the theme (blue), but none of them are completely monochrome, so if the mods feel that some of them aren't blue enough, I don't mind you decide to leave the less blue ones out of the theme voting.

You never stop becoming more and more amazing at graphics!! Love the colors, text, and composition! Not snagging any as my love of the show has dwindled over the seasons, but my favorites are 4, 14, 15, 19, and 20!

I could basically save all of these!

Faves are 4, 6, 11 (how do you even complex), 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19 and 25!
This is seriously one of your best sets ever, I'm in awe! I wish I could fit so much in one icon and still make it work :O

I had to come back and say more because you deserve all the awards for this. You make me not want icon ever again because I don't think anyone could ever top this! They're so good it's ridiculous!

Once again, I am completely dumbfounded by your compositions. I don't even know where to start with how you come up with some of them, like 7, 11, 13 and 15. And your coloring as usual is gorgeous, I really love it in 20. So pretty. I really like the blue with the pinks as well and you do such a good job with the vibrancy, 2 is awesome. They all are really. Glad to have some new Sherlock icons to save. Just gotta watch the rest of the season now. =)

Oh gosh, such pretty colouring and unique icons. You really do have your own style. I absolutely love the use of text and colouring in for instance 4 and 12; so effective and beautiful. And 7 is beautiful too. The colouring on her face looks so good and the use of the text/brush/texture is amazing, wow. I also adore the way you manage to tell a story in 6 (and the alt version 24). Great use of lighting and the way you added the text is just so unique and fits the icon so well. Great cropping too. That latter also goes for 3 and 10. And I just love the entire feel to 15, 19 and 20. Beautiful!

Where can I begin to state how much I love your set? So creative and strong vibrant coloring! I really love the quirky/creative icons like 2, 6, and 7. As always I am in awe with your text work. Yaay, finally got around to properly comment on your set!

The first icon is amazing already. I love how the size of the characters goes from small to large in the opposite direction than expected. Great composition! Love the balloon-face. :D

04 is so iconic! Great color and font combo! I looove the grunginess in 5. The coloring of the text is amazing. 7 is so tentacle-y, it's eerie. Love the text there, too. (I love text on curves so much.)

09 is wow. Putting them over each other is such a great idea. Love 10, too. Mycroft as an ubiquitous poster on every wall, very scary. I think I voted for 11 in the voting, it's so... magazine-cover complex and the text work is amazing.

13 is hilarious! It never ceases to impress me how you can tell a story with an icon. 14 is perfect. I love the transition you made for the gif - it looks so natural! I love 18 - why did I never think of making a plain single-color background grungy? That makes is so much better.

I love the perfectly balanced coloring on 19. 20 is amazing. The script font works so well there, and the amazing coloring. Wow.

FAB FAB FAB. I saved so many of these. 1 has such amazing composition right off the bat. I love the different sizes and how wonderfully the images' shapes complement each other. Fantastic coloring and text use in 7. I love love love the layered complex composition and text work in 11. It really pops and I feel like the more I stare at it, the more in awe I am of each detail. 13 is hilarious and I love how you colored Watson, especially making his mustache pop. That looks so retro pop art, along with the arrow and circle, and it's wonderful. Great text work in 16. 19 has a really great composition and coloring too. (I feel like so many of your icons could also be directly from comic book pages, they're so vivid and wonderfully layered.) 20 is phenomenal with that insanely vivid and gorgeous surreal coloring, as well as the text use. FInally, I'm digging 25. The lightness of the colors work really well with the fun text use!

And that one of them was the arrangement in 7, cause I'm honestly not very good at using the path tool and that was an extremely frustrating icon to make. I didn't even plan it to be so tentacley but turns out that was the only shape I managed to create, lol. I clearly still need some practise with text on shapes!

And you liked so many of my own faves too. Thanks so much. I really loved making this set (despite the furstration) and was happy with the result, but now I'm already terrified of the next round cause I feel like I kinda set the bar a bit high for myself. The next set is bound to be disappointing so I just want everyone to lower their expectations :p

I'm glad you mentioned the comic book -inspired or retro/pop art influence style cause I used to make more of those types of icons in the past so in this set I kinda tried to go back to that but with more vibrant colors than I used back then. (It's weird how I thought I was totally using vibrant colors then, but when I look at my older stuff everything looks so... muddy. maybe it was a screen difference but idk o.O) ANYWAYS thank you soooo much for the lovely comment!
