Ehhh, letting fans interfere is always a bad move cause it encourages crazy and annoying fan behavior. I knew that had happened once or twice on OUAT (and both of the cases I know of were terrible writing decisions!), but didn't know it was the case for SPN. It sends the message that if you yell loud enough you'll get your way, which really shouldn't be how it goes. I'd be more like 'take it or leave it' if I was a writer :p I had no idea anyone would dislike Charlie being gay??? wtf. Overall I've only seen positive reactions to her, except for some pretty mild stuff about her being annoying. (I agreed with that at first tbh but she won me over)
I know it doesn't make sense to hate on love interests when none of my ships don't have a chance of becoming canon. I mean, I don't even want my ships to be canon, cause canon makes things boring and also if something is safe and sane enough to have canon potential it's too vanilla for me to like in the first place! However, I'm not even pretending to talk about something that makes sense, just about pure emotional response that is far beyond my control. I can't just start liking a character only because I know I have bad reasons for not liking them, it's just an automatic reaction I get, even if the show has already ended so there's literally zero chance of the canon changing in any way! It's not just female characters that get this reaction from me btw, in some shows like OUAT of Buffy where my preferred ships are femslash or some alternative het ship for the female character, I want the love interest guys out of the way. My ideal show would have zero canon romances (for main / important / interesting characters) but lots of subtext for all kinds of interesting ships. And yes I get that this is super childish but yeah... :c
lol I can't believe you actually speed up his scenes. Doesn't it transform their voices in a weird way..?? I'd imagine it takes the drama out of the scenes if you're listening to squirrel!Cas :p or maybe that would make them slightly more entertaining, idk.
