Lol nope, don't let my username fool you, I definitely would NEVER use JS for anything other than the necessary web stuff it's meant for. And even then I hate it, like any reasonable person would - why is it so difficult to have decent architecture in JS? It always comes out like spaghetti code :p
I used Qt, so basically extended C++. It's really good for gui application programming, and my favorite thing about my randomizer is that it doesn't copy the random files to another folder (like that other random images app I've heard of) - instead it displays them in the gui and I can directly copy them from there. But I don't know how widely known Qt even is - I'm pretty sure it was developed by a finnish company so maybe it's just a local thing here!
Do you think it would be doable to code it in Python? I worked with Python for a project and it wasn't that hard to handle folders and files.
YES, absolutely! if you can handle folders and files you can code it. i'm not sure i personally could tho cause i've never made an actual gui program with python and don't know how it's done, i've only used it as server side code for web systems. But I'd definitely encourage you to try! I could even share the basics of my solution if you want but at the same time I'd be interested in hearing what kind of algorithm you'd use :)
but geek talk aside, thank you sooo much for reading my tut and commenting, it is an honor. I'll try to get the hang of the pen tool but I feel like you'd need to add a million points with it to get a not totally silly-looking shape?? I hate clicking cause it strains my wrists, while brushing (which I can do using my drawing pad + pen) is not straining at all, so that's why I haven't even tried learning the Pen tool, it just sounds painful :c
I think a lot of people have prejudices against Exclusion as a layer mode, because of that oooold trend of blue exclusion layers which ruined many icons back then xD but, used with the right texture or cap a weird layer mode like that one can really work!
