I don't even know how to start commenting on this set!!! I don't watch any of these shows yet your icons are giving me feels. When I first looked at the set last week when you posted it, I was trying to put words on it and "futuristic vintage" came to my mind. The choice of fonts, shapes and colours in 9 for example, bring an alien sciency colour party vibe, and I get that feel from icons like 2 and 19 as well. (I know you said it didn't feel cohesive to you but I definitely see a style unity here, like a darker, angstier storytelling feel with all your technical skills put to use.) I'll never be over the consistent boldness that keeps bringing you to new icon heights. ♥
Favourites are: 1 (the silhouettes and texture blending with that colour combo would have been enough to make it great but the small framed subject "finishes" it in the most perfect way), 5 (always loving your way of including so much text in blocks and making it both complex and readable, and the brush/texture over his face is really fun to look at!). Then I realise I love absolutely everything from the last three row, so this could take a while, haha. So instead of stupid descriptions with "wow" (because that's how I feel about all of them, basically), I'm going to focus on the things I really love. There's a darker, grungy thing going on that reminds me of some of your older icons and that does an amazing job giving an atmosphere to the set. And I love that you use it on muted icons like 8 (that blocking and stock use is incredible), 12 and 18 but also on vibrant ones like 11, 15 and 16 (okay maybe they're not vibrant but definitely more colourful). 11 is scary in the best possible way and the text and texture use on 16 are so good. And 15 is everything I love in an icon so I'm going to take it home with me, probably. Perfect colour combination and complex textured background. And her painty hair looks amazing. Then there are the vintage but still beautifully colourful icons like 13, 14 (that text arrangement is so great) and 17 (love the more vibrant colours and the lighting). In 20 I love that you used the triangle texture as a way to make the text pop even more. 6 has perfect everything, I love the colours. The combination of blocking and blending is so clever and the text is such a nice finishing touch. 19 looks crazy and amazing, I love the painting with neon colours so much! It catches the eye immediately and is just really great. And last but not least I'd like to talk about 7 and 10. Because B&W + colour is not something I particularly but here it works so well. The blending of the subject in the butterfly texture is brilliant and looks amazing. And in 10 it's the colour combination and font choice that works so well with the b&w background.
And here ends this ridiculously long comment that probably doesn't make much sense. I didn't take the time to comment on your flawless work in a really long time so I'm trying to make up for it. ;) ♥
