January icon dump: 44 multifandom icons

I've been super busy lately. It's getting a bit less hectic in a month or two though, so maybe I'll make more icons then. But for now, this is all I've made this year, which might be a good thing because hey a reasonably sized icon dump from me for once!

I have a new screen btw so if you notice a shift to some direction in my coloring, it might be a screen thing. This one really amps up the yellows while my previous screen made everything look red. So now the skin in many of my older icons looks yellow :s there's also something weird going on with brightness and saturation cause everything looks SUPER bright and saturated on my file explorer for example, but in photoshop or after uploading somewhere they look much more muted. I have no idea which screen is closer to whatever everyone else is using so that is a little worrying but ehh, can't really do anything about it.

Icons 1-14 are remakes for the bestof_icons 2014 remake activity! Click for the original icon. Unlike last year, this year I'm actually happy with most of the remakes.
15-24 were for a super difficult mmcbattle activity, where my team pixelheroes had to icon things that would start with each of the letters in our usernames, AND on top of that we had to draw inspiration from the amazing makers of another multimaker community, magicmachine. This is why most of this set doesn't really resemble my usual style at all, and is not something I'll continue with stylewise, but it was super fun to just try these things :)
Then , the rest of this icon dump is stuff I've made for watchnicon (continuing with my Lost rewatch as well as getting back to my DW rewatch!), plus two random Carmilla icons made for iconsomething.

most of the icons 15-24 were made in 2014 so they are not eligible for bestof_icons 2015 activities!

did i tell you last year i finished lost? and got soooo hooked! dang that show is addictive. tbh i never really wanted to give it a go, because i knew there's so much of it and that i'd get super obsessed, and i already have enough obsessions as it is lol. anyway, i absolutely fell in love and ttly know why the fanbase is so *_____* about it. and it's so awesome, because there's so many diverse characters, i can't even worhviworvmsv.

ANYWAY. back to your gorgeous icons *rolls up sleeves* the composition of 1 is AMAZING. can we pls talk about how amazing it is? let's! i'm a big fan of complex stuff, and silhouette icons and omg you blended the images AND used text. is there anything this icon doesn't have? WOW. and the 3rd icon, *HEART EYES EMOJI* what a gr9 remake. and sawyer smoking and PURPLE. it just doesn't get any better than that tbh. 8 is also amazing, i love how the sepia colouring fits with the pink pastel background. 10 tho omg, the colouring of that is incredible. i love how different these all are, yet they have a 100% you factor to all of them. like after the vintage and pale colouring to 10, we have 11 which has incredible texture use and colours! and 14 is fabulous, i honestly don't know how you manage to make icons stand out with such vibrant colours without oversaturating them O: TEACH ME YOUR WAYS PLS.

both of thg icons are wonderful as well. and the composition of 16 wiurnhvisnvksmlsm!!!! i'm gonna go ahead and assume locke and ben are your favs? :D because you make the most creative and awesome icons with them. 26 is super awesome colouring wise, like pfff, give me all the colours and vibrance in the world *___* and the juliet one @ 30 is so bright and pretty. amazing lighting! 33 tho, wow. that one has to be my top #1 of this entire post. i love everything about it. what a great texture/text use, colouring and the whole ~feel of the icon is amazing. and CHARLIE ;A; and right under it 38 is super duper cool as well, it's so pastel-y and elegant. i can't believe how much you've improved in text like WOW shit. oo, and the last 2 have really wonderful colouring as well. i love how you can make their skin so pale pinkish. idk how you do it, selective colouring?? but it's AWESOME.

i wish i had your creativity, man, honestly D: i can't seem to make complex icons to save my life atm, so now that i've saved up so many beauties here for my inspo folder, hopefully it'll inspire me to make complex things too :D

OMG, YOU FINISHED LOST, AWESOME! ikr, I looove how many completely different characters there are! and the overall story was just super fascinating for me - I just wish I would have gotten into it way back when it was airing so I could have participated in the fandom when it was active.

Thank youuu this means so much to me because HELL YEAH those two creepy old dudes are my favorites and, i just get these ideas for them, maybe cause it's easy for me to remember their scenes and know what I want to icon about them next. Also with this subject I usually end up with icons I like too, because when I'm iconing them I'm iconing 100% for myself, i know nobody else needs shippy Bocke icons lol but I know I do so I just try to make them something that I'd actually like to use, as in, full of everything and ridiculous colors and stuff :D which in turn is why it's super extra flattering that you like those. THANKYOUSOMUCH ♥

and, I'm super glad you think I've made some text progress, it was my main goal last year. I really don't remember how bad I was at it the last time you were around, but it feels like it was super long ago so i must have been pretty awful xD

As for the coloring in the last two, I'm pretty sure it was gradient maps as always... all the gradient maps on soft light and maybe on normal too on these icons to get the mutedness. I wish I knew how to selective color!
aw, I really hope you'll get your complexity inspiration back! But, if not, I'd love to see your simple icons as well cause your coloring alone is definitely enough to make them extra brilliant and eye-catching. ♥
