This is an awesome tutorial! It's really helpful to see how you paint and the painting layers. I've been playing around with that too. And I'm doing it all on separate layers as well.

Also, that's how I crop too. Drag the whole screen cap over and use the size transform until it looks the way I like. That way if need be later, I can nudge here and there and not end up with whitespace. :)
